1. Summary
This product bulletin announces the availability of ApplianceWatch™
for Microsoft® Operations Manager (MOM) 1.1 for First Customer Ship. ApplianceWatch for MOM is a MOM management pack that can be installed on any workstation or server that is monitored by MOM. This includes DataFabric® Manager (DFM) servers or the MOM server itself. Once installed, ApplianceWatch for MOM receives SNMP traps directly from the NetApp storage or from DFM. ApplianceWatch for MOM translates the traps into a format that MOM can then utilize. It also can assign predefined event severity levels to the received traps. 2.

The customer must enable Data ONTAP
SNMP traps on the systems to be monitored. They must configure Data ONTAP to
send the traps to the system hosting ApplianceWatch for MOM. ApplianceWatch for MOM is licensed on a per-monitored-system basis. An ApplianceWatch for MOM license with n (e.g. 7) nodes enables the use of
the product on one workstation or server monitoring an equivalent number (e.g. 7) of NetApp storage systems
(primary storage or secondary storage). ApplianceWatch
for MOM can be ordered using the existing processes from the Quote Tool.
Partners should contact their Channel Representative for pricing
information. The table below lists the part numbers for various configurations as of the date of this product bulletin.
It is highly recommended that customers purchase an SSP license for ApplianceWatch for MOM. This will entitle them to NetApp customer support and also future releases of ApplianceWatch for MOM. The
table below lists the various SSP part numbers as of the date of this product
bulletin. Partners should contact
their Channel Representative for pricing information.

ApplianceWatch for MOM is available in the Quote Tool now.
ApplianceWatch for MOM 1.1 is scheduled to be posted to the NOW™ site on 9
April 2007. Products need to be validated against the NetApp
Safety/EMI Regulatory Compliance List prior to order submission. The list is
available at PartnerCenter
